Cornice Restoration
I'm hoping for recommendations on restoring wood cornices (ours if in pretty poor condition, including bad patches with tin siding). Are they salvagable or do they typically need to be replaced wholesale? I've heard of fiberglass replacements but have no idea as to quality/price. Suggestions/experiences greatly appreciated.

A few years ago my neighbors had facade and cornice work done by Edson. The work was fantantastic. If you live in a historic district, you need to be careful about cornice replacement, as it is a landmarks issue. The Edson contractor nicely asked me if he could 'borrow'/remove on of my cornice pieces, so that they could create a template for the remaining cornice piece. I dont know how much the job was, as it was part of an overall facade improvement. However, I apparently saved the contractors alot of time(equals $$) by loaning them a piece to duplicate.

I feel like an empty room, but eh. Nothing seems worth doing. I haven't gotten much done today.
