I’m replacing 4 curved windows with Kolbe windows. The contractor says that Kolbe can’t put sash lifts on curved windows, and recommended having Kolbe cut a handhold across the bottom sash. I think sash lifts/handles might look better. Any suggestions or advice?

The quality is excellent, and the price is good. They have double and triple glazed, wood or aluminium clad and also vinyl.

Has anyone worked with Westsidewindows? I received an estimate on replacement windows, but in doing research on this site, I don’t see their company name listed as a company to do business with. They recommend using windows from a company named Crystal or Serious. Any thoughts?

Our windows need new screens and some very minor maintenance. Not rocket science: we just want someone competent who won’t mess up our new paint job. Any recommendations?

I’ve spent some time sifting through the (very helpful) posts regarding window replacements. I am looking to replace our apartment’s windows – in a landmarked building. I no longer use these window security bars. They are available for sale at best offer.

Wrought iron security window bars, about 9′H x 3′W. Painted black, stationary, has a nice rounded A/C box at bottom. Good shape. For materials alone, a single brand new is about $250.

I’ll take the best cash offer I get by 7pm Tuesday night (April 26). You pick it up in Park Slope Brooklyn. Pickup has to be done by Sat or Sun. The bars have been taken off the house.

After 4 years, I have decided it is time to attempt to clean the outside of our apt windows. Is there any product there that will help? My arms aren’t long enough to reach the entire area and we live on the 5th floor.

A client has just replaced a house full of these vinyl windows, now we need a place to recycle them. Any ideas on where to sell or recycle these?

Hi,
We need to rebuild the top parts of the sills on two of our windows. The wood is rotten and the paint is peeling. I have just tested them for lead and they tested positive, so we will also need to do some lead abatement. Can anyone recommend someone for this job? This would be non-landmarked and there’s no need to recreate any detail or anything too tricky.
