Does anybody have a good site to search for foreclosures? I’ve tried some of the subscription sites, but they come up empty half the time, which makes me wonder…

Any help appreciated.

Building Heights in Prospect Heights


I’m trying to discover what the maximum height is for a new construction in Prospect Heights, but am having no luck through the city. Does anybody have any insight? There’s an empty lot for sale across from me and I’m wondering how high they could eventually go with a new building.

Empty Lot on Dean/Washington


Does anybody know what’s being planned for the lot on Dean between Washington and Underhill?

Any way to find out? I was looking at a place across the street but don’t feel like living in a construction site and then discovering I have no sunlight when it’s done…

Insurance Against Falling Prices?


I read somewhere (it may have been on a post here) that some developers are offering “insurance” against falling prices by guaranteeing a refund should other units in their buildings be sold at significantly lower prices. Does this ring a bell to anyone? I wish I could find the post/article…

The Skinny on New Condos? Anyone?


I’m a New Yorker coming back home after years in California. The amount of new construction/condos is mind-boggling, but a lot of it seems to be empty despite decent prices for what seem to be decent places. Why is this? Just the economy? Or is there a sense that the new condos aren’t nice places to live? Or maybe even poor investments? Is there even a cultural backlash against them? Any insight would be welcome, thanks.
