Line of Credit on a 3 family Investment Property
I have a three family property in the slope with no debt on it but is not my primary residence. I am looking for a revolving line of credit but since it is an investment property, many bank’s consumer loan area won’t touch it. Has anyone had any success with this situation?
Boiler Room Gas Smell
We have a three family with a separate boiler / hot water heater room in the basment which is pretty well sealed from the rest of the basement. I just noticed a gas odor of gas when opening the door to this room which was not there before. Nothing overwhelmening but noticeable. The boiler and hot water heater are operational. Has anyone come across a similar issue? Is it normal when a boiler / hot water heater are operating at these temps to have some odor? Any suggestions or recommended HVAC companies? Thanks.
3-Story Metal Clothesline Attachment Down From Storm in Back
We had one of those metal ladder like structures used for attaching clothes lines to in our backyard. A wisteria tree / vine had slowly snaked through it over the years and was like a three story ball of vines. This tree / metal structure came down in the storm and is now leaning into our neighbors yard. It would have come fully down had it not been for the cable wires where it it is now resting now. I consulted a tree removal company (Paul Bunyan Tree) who said they could not do anything with the metal. In order to get at the mass of vines the metal has to be cut and disposed of first. Anyone ever had one of these removed? My thinking is that if the company that removes those structures could also dispose of the vines that would be the easiest.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Front Door Refinishing – Cost/Recs
I just received a quote of $900 to strip, stain and apply marine varnish to our front door and door frame. This is a single door on a rental property in the Slope. Anyone have any feedback on what others have spent for this type of job and recommendations for contractors to do this?
What types of long lasting finished are people using that are low maintenance?
Apt Cleaning Between Renter
We are looking for a company / person to do a thorough cleaning of a 1 bedroom apartment in the Slope after our current renter moves out before the new one moves in. This would be a single job and they should have their own cleaning products and vacuum. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Person for Garbage & Sweeping
We are looking for someone to (i) bundle the garbage and put it on the curb twice a week, (ii) sweep once a week and (iii) shovel as needed in the winter.
This is a three family building in center slope with a 16′ sidewalk to maintain. Nothing too much, but we no longer live in the building.
Would love to hear what other people are paying for similar services and recommendations of who would do this for us.
Enourmous For Sale Sign
ALTA NYC put up an enourmous “For Sale” sign recently in front a brownstone at 204 St John’s Place. This isn’t a normal for sale sign, but rather a 8′ x 5′ sign in the front yard facing the street. It is a tremendous eye sore and as nearby property owners, are there any regulations about the size of a sign?
Also, is ALTA NYC a licensed RE broker. Their website seemed to indicate that they are a rental broker, but not sales. Is there any way to run a check on them?
Bathroom Tile Repair
I need a reccomendation for someone to repair some tiles which are coing loose in our bathroom and probably regrout around the existing tiles. Can anyone suggest someone for this and perhpas tell me what it could possibly cost?
Looking to Sublet a 3+ BR
We currently own a three family townhome on 6th & 6th in the Slope in which we live on the bottom two floors and rent out the top two floors. With my wife beginnning residency in Manhattan we are enlisting the help of a live in nanny / au pair for a while and will need another bedroom. Therefore, we are looking to sublet a 3+ bedroom / 2+ bath apartment or home for a minimum of two years in Brooklyn. We are looking to spend approximately $4200+ / month. We are familiar with the normal resources (craigslist, NY Times, etc), but wanted to reach out to owners here to circumvent a rental broker.
