“Waterless” Grass


Last year – at just about this time – I asked folks for any thoughts/experience with some of the newer “synthetic grass” or “waterless grass” products available. We got a few helpful responses, but we didn’t go forward with anything.

So now, with spring upon us again, does anyone have thoughts or experience they would be able to share?

Cast Iron Clawfoot Tub For Sale


Cast iron clawfoot tub, in good shape, for sale and pick-up in South Park Slope.

Already out of apartment and in front garden area (covered from elements).

All four legs intact and attached. A little wear from use, but no major chips, dents, etc.

Rubbish Removal


We have several bags of dirt from work on our back yard…but no matter how light we make the bags the weekly garbage pick-ups continue to refuse to take…

Its not enough to rent a bin (probably 10 bags around 50-60 pounds each), can anyone recommend a pick-up service or drop off location in Brooklyn?

Getting a Handle on Building Code


I’m a new owner of a 4-unit brownstone and trying to get a handle on the various rules and regs that I should be aware of – signs that need to posted, smoke/CO2 detectors in units, etc.

Is anyone of aware of a city guide that is available or a good web site the sums up these rules/regs/code?
