I don’t normally do this, but I feel compelled to relate the story of the contractor who recently completed a gut renovation of my apartment in a Park Slope brownstone: Nick Perper (NP Classic Construction, 347-268-8717). Nick brought the project in at budget, one month ahead of schedule – how often have you said that?!?

Nick is very knowledgeable about construction, his crew and subs handled all aspects of the job (carpentry, electric, plumbing, tiling, HVAC, etc.), and he was on site supervising the work much of the time. His bid was very competitive, the work is gorgeous, and Nick had clever ideas about solving the sorts of problems that arise when you attempt to bring architects’ plans to life in a 120-year-odl brownstone.

It’s a pleasure to work with Nick, easy to communicate with him. To save money, we decided to order all materials ourselves, from switch boxes and door pulls to tiles and appliances. Nick agreed to the arrangement, helped us select and obtain materials, and was very patient when we encountered the inevitable delays in deliveries. A genuinely nice person and a superb contractor, I cannot recommend Nick Perper highly enough, and would be delighted to provide a reference for him.
