My 4-floor co-op is looking into improving the hallway/stairwell with new carpeting and fresh paint. I’m curious if anyone has any advice on carpeting materials for this high-traffic area. Do you need the best padding? What carpet would you recommend? We need this job to last 10-15 years, but we also have to keep the costs down. We are planning to get estimates from the big-box stores. Any local, smaller business recommendations are appreciated. Thanks.
