Popcorn Ceiling Removal
I have an original popcorn ceiling from 1964 in my apartment. I’m thinking of flattening it out. Anyone have any experience (or recommendations) on either (a) removing it (scraping it off) first and then skim coating over it – or (b) skim coating right over it?
I know that other apartments with popcorn ceilings in my building have had asbestos detected, so I’m leaning more towards the option of skim coating right over the popcorn so I don’t disturb it.
Sanding & Staining Floors
We currently have parquet floors that are about 45 years old (see picture).
We don’t want to remove them, but want to stain them a darker color.
Does anyone have any (good) experiences with companies that do a good job with this?
We would like our floors to look like the floors in this apartment:
