roomate changed locks
Daughter was living in an apartment in rochester as a roomate/occupant verbal agreement year lease and paid security deposit. lease has two names listed the girl she roomed with and the mother of the girl. lease only has one signature though of the girl. Rent paid until February including utilities. Daughter told on Feb 10had to move out by 28th February, beacause moping around apartment, disrespectable when speaking. no written notice given. Daughter told roomate no so while my daughter was home on winter break for a week her roomate changed the locks and told her she could come on feb 22 between 5:30 and 9:00 to get belongings. Daughter
returned to apartment and locks changed mother there with two men telling my daughter to leave(belongings require u-haul to move) daughter called police but mother had called earlier telling police my daughter did not live there and only stayed occ. but was refusing to leave so they changed locks, I have cancelled checks showing rent and security. Police asked my daughter repeatedly where she really lived etc. Mother than stated that if my daughter tried to stay on Feb. 23 she would make sure someone was alwys in apt. to watch her. I witnissed this all as i went with my daughter on the 23 to see if locks had really been changed. I removed my daughter from apt. wrote a letter to her roomate stating not cont. with lease due to her acts and mothers acts. Also they had removed all of her belongings from common area of apt. dishes, pots, pans bathroom items etc. and placed them in her bedroom without her consent or knowledge(have pictures). I live 2 hours away, daughter had to withdraw from classes. Sent letter certified mail stating when we would be back with u-haul to get belongings. Belongings will be in her room until march 16. Roomate sent letter stating will charge 12.00 day storage withholding security. what kind of case if any does my daughter have? also have form from management of complex showing daughter is resident of apartment her signature copy of her drivers license and I also had to cosign as she was under 21.
