Insurance Company Contractor

Hi all, We sustained major damage to our house in the tornado a couple weeks ago. The roof is getting replaced and now the top floor needs to be completely gutted from water damage. All said probably 75 to 100K damage. We were advised to hire a public adjuster as our insurance company (TSC) seems to have some conflict of interest. The Adjuster from TSC is the same as the contractor. TSC is telling me I am required to use their recommended contractor. This sounds illegal and underhanded. Does anyone know the law regarding this?

Roof Replacement

Hi All, Our Roof was ripped off in the tornado last week. We are in the process of working with the insurance company to replace it. It will be a full rip-off and replacement as 2/3 of the roof is literally gone.

I have had 4 Roofer’s come by and all have mentioned different things.
1. Material. I am hearing TPO and SBS. They have not really given reasons why one is better than the other. One person said TPO gives me an energy star rating and a tax credit, but I have heard other issues with bad installations of TPO (it is heat welded together).
2. Insulation: There was not one bit of insulation under the old roof. 1 person said Roll R20 insulation in yourself when it is open and then put Tyvek over that. Another said screw foam insulation over the new plywood base.
Another said that the house absolutely needs that empty space in between roof and top floor ceiling to “breathe” and if I put R20 in the top floor would be very hot in the warm months.

Can anyone help me sort out the reality here?
Thanks

39″ Kraftmaid Birch Base cabinet

I added a Dishwasher and replaced this cabinet. It is is excellent condition. This would cost around $500 to have made from Kraftmaid. The color is Honeyspice Birch.
If anyone can use this asking for $50.

Water Leak in Cellar. Who to call?

We have water leaking into our cellar along a side wall. It does not really seem to correlate with rain. Front of the house along the base of the brick in the cellar water is leaking from between the mortar joints. Enough that it has created holes. There is no way this not coming from the neighbor. They have a very decrepit chimney that could be an issue. But every time I look or try to ask about the leak we never get any answers.
Who can I call about this? Brownstoner’s have any suggestions? Is this a plumber, roofer or someone else?
We are looking for an inspection to find the leak and determine who needs to fix it.
Thanks
