looking for acoustical engineer
We are looking for a sound or acoustical engineer to help us dampen the sound of the piano in our daughter’s apartment (apartment building with elevator, thin walls and ceilings). Does anyone have experience with this process?

Noisy Neighbors Outdoors
Does anyone have neighbors who play music outdoors in the garden when they are not outside themselves? For an hour or several, loud. Can anything be done about it? Asking them to stop has not made an impact.

new good windows
Can anyone please recommend a reliable company to install new windows in a brownstone? Standard size, would like them to be good quality to block out some noise but not those super noise blocking ones. Thanks

windows for soundproofing
Has anyone used any of the soundproof window companies mentioned here, Cityproof or City soundproofing? Do they work? The first one suggests interior windows with extended frames added to your own windows. Are you able to open them?

speakers on deck
Are sound speakers permitted to be permanently installed on the wall of a roof deck? The deck extends off the second floor of a brownstone (the bedroom floor). What agency regulates this?

Sidewalks/Landmarks
We are having trouble figuring out the Landmarks guidelines for cement sidewalks. They want you to match the adjacent sidewalks, but what if they are two different colors? Does Landmarks come around after you have done the work to inspect what you have done?
