Weight of Snow on Flat Roofs


Should I be concerned about the weight of all this heavy snow sitting the flat roof of a 25×40 bldg? My bulding’s structure is sound but it’s still alot of weight.
Does anyone shovel snow off the roof and into their backyards?

Biasi Furnaces info


I need to replace the Burnham oil furnace in a single family house I own in Sullivan Co. It’s
rented year-round & the tenants pay for oil.
My long-time plumber up there is reccomending a Biasi B-10, 3 pass boiler, model B-5. It will run approx $3500+ installed.

Can anyone can chime in on Biasi furnaces quality or reliability. http://www.qhtinc.com/biasib10.html

The house is an 1800sf split level with 3 heat zones and an indirect to the hot water tank, and baseboard radiators. Natural gas isn’t available in the area and I don’t want to convert to propane.

Premixed Thinset


There are 3 loose ceramic wall tiles in my shower. Since it’s such a small project I was going to buy premixed thinset. Is there a particular brand that I should use? If premixed thinset isn’t good, what’s the easiest way to mix a really small amount of powdered thinset?

Solarium Kits


Has anyone used a Solarium kit to add a Sun Room or enclosed porch to their deck
or onto the back of their house? There seem to be alot of options and I’m curious about
how good they turn out, durability and installation costs.
For now I’m interested in which companies make the best ones, installer recs, and any other useful info.
I’ll deal with FAR & DOB permits etc. later.
