Homeowner’s Insurance


Hi all, our mortgage is requiring for us to have a personal homeowner’s insurance in addition to our condo’s insurance. Does anyone have recommendations on providers? Any leads are much appreciated!

Contesting Tax Assessment?


Hello. I recently received a notice for increase in property taxes. The economy being what it is, this did not come as a surprise. Although it is rather large–triple the current taxes.

On the NYC Dept of Finance website, there is information for filing a protest with the NYC Tax Commission, “if you believe that your assessed value is wrong.” Does anyone have any experience with this? I feel like it’s worth a try, but never having done this, I wonder if there’s a potential for an even higher assessment.

Anyone have any experience with this? Your advice is greatly appreciated!

Source for small piece of marble


I need to replace a top of a table, roughly 25×30. Does anyone know of a place who will sell smaller pieces? I went into Bella Tiles and they only sell big slabs. I’m interested in lighter colored stones (travertine, carrera, even milk glass or Ceasar Stone). Would appreciate any leads!

RE Laywer & Building Financials


Buying for the first time and have heard that it’s good to have a lawyer go over a building’s financials. Since I’m at the very beginning (just started to look), do I hire an RE lawyer now? How did other people go about handling this? Appreciate any advice!
