I’ve read a lot here about leaks below in basement but not from 3 floors up. A washing machine above us sprang a leak on Friday and rained water through our parlor level/kitchen ceiling and floor. Can anyone advise a) about how to check the electrical work and b) whether we need to open the ceiling right away to prevent mold?

Also, any experience on how insurance handles washing machine breaks/leaks?
