I have 2 requests:
Has anyone had a recent experience with a good post renovation cleaning service to help get a vacant apartment ready for rental?
I would like someone or some company to help me clear out some junk in my basement as well as to vacuum out all the dust, dirt and grime. ANy suggestions? Thank you.

gas dryer vent on roof
My plumber had to install the gas dryer vent through the roof because of structure of house. What kind of vent cover should I use? The vent is sticking straight up. Should I put an elbow on it 90 degrees to the side and then a wall vent cover? I am worried about rain and snow getting into it and also having it bllow lint up into the air rather than on the roof where I can clean it off. Any suggestsions? Thank you so much.

Beam Damage in Basement
I have recently discovered that due to previous termite activity (not recent) a supporting beam in the basement is rotted and a temporary floor to ceiling beam which was set up a few years ago to secure things is looking rather wobbly. The damaged beam is one that goes into the side of the basement and is not reaching the side. Is it necessary to go through the structural engineer route or is a trustworthy contractor just as good? Any recommendations for either? Anyone with experience in this area or with a similar problem? Thank you.

Washer Dryer in Basement or Kitchen
Two Questions:
1) My basement is below garden level. Is it better and easier to install the w/d hookup in kitchen and vent it through bathroom to backyard (requires hole in wall) or to put it in basement and vent from there (also requires hole in wall)? I never knew it was so complicated to install a hook up for w/d!!
Question #2: If I do put it in kitchen would it be recommended to box in the vent pipe on bathroom ceiling or to put in a drop ceiling? Thank you.

Poly Floors or Paint First?
I have two questions:
#1 Is it better to do painting in the house first or do the floors first? Does it matter?
#2 I have gotten different opinions from different floor guys. SOme say you do not need sealer with oil based polyurethe and others say you do. Help!
