Replacing Main Water Pipe


I was so excited to install washer and dryer in the basement, but plumber told us to change main water pipe first in order to hook up W/D, and these old pipes will be broken, which will cause flood to the basement that has no drains. Anyone have same experience? I need good plumber. Please give me your thoughts and rec.

Washer/dryer installation


I want to buy and install washer/dryer in my basement soon. There is no washer/dryer ready situation. Who should I call to make w/d ready? plumber? Please recommend someone who can do this with reasonable price. BTW How much does it cost approximately? Gas dryer is better and economical than electric one?

Refinance now or later ?


Please tell me your thoughts. Our bank offer around 5% lately for refinance. Our current rate is 6%. But I feel it will be much lower in this year. Am I too gready? or wait until rate is closer to 4.5%?
