Double Parking Ticket


Yesterday at 4:20 pm, I double parked my car outside my home on Wash Ave to off-load my 3 and 7 year old. I left the flashers on and my wife came down the stoop to pick them up. In the 4 min transaction an 88 Precinct patrol car pulled in front of my car and issued a ticket even though they saw the kids. Arguing was in vain and the officer said she ‘wanted to teach me a lesson’. However, the ticket was incomplete and omitted the time. I plan on contesting it and have three witnesses who saw the bizarre exchange. Any advice?

The threads for the ‘female’ end part of the radiator has worn out. We can’t get our new valves to screw in. Can they be threaded? Can I do this myself or is a plumber required? Thanks.

Commercial Loans


We’re looking at a vacant 7 unit property in Bed Stuy. We have about 25% down and the expertise. What are the requirements to obtain a loan for a commercial property that needs new water, electric and kitchens and baths. Anyone recommend a good mortgage broker? How hard is it to obtain a construction loan? We have excellent credit and other rental income.

4′x4′ Old Fashion Bathroom Tiles


Does anyone have/know where to purchase old bathroom floor tiles. We’re looking for 18 celadon/light green tiles that were pulled up by our plumber making a repair. The old tiles are about 1/4 inch thick but it is more the color we’re after since we can set a higher base. Bergen Tiles has closed as did that wonderful place on 4th Avenue…any other recommendations? Anyone have a stash they’re not using?

Finials for Window Guard


We trying to find 3 finials to match ours for the garden floor window guard. They’re 7-1/2″ x 3″ and have an arrowhead on top of two mirror-imaged ‘S’s. They’re similar to Architecture Irons AIC102A Lafayette finial without the bottom band. Let me know if anyone has or seen them locally. Thanks all.
