Door Knob Servicing 4 Brwstn Apt
Altho a quick search yielded nothing, I am sure this may have already been discussed on the boards; so welcome any references to back pages as well as any recommendations on the item below:
My apt has 3 interior door knob sets and lock parts which are very cheap Home Depot instalments by previous owners. In dire need of lock repair as well as door knob switch-out to match the other old-world knobs in the apartment.
Wife and I too busy with work and children to go hunting for door knobs across various ant. stores. Also, Home Depot selection not cutting it.
Is there someone out there who can not only switch out/repair the shoddy locks mechanisms, but find door knobs to complement what we have in the rest of the apartment?
Locksmiths in general say that they can do the work, but that owners have to find the door know sets they wish installed.
Many thanks – MFB
Mounting / Hanging Skills
Would welcome any recommendations about someone who is particularly adept at doing solid hanging mounting work with an array of items, including glass/chrome shelves, shower curtain and towel rods on tiled surfaces, to mirrors and picture frames (heavy) on walls, to pot racks, etc.
Ideally, would like to avoid a “generalist” handyperson who would “figure it out as they go along” b/c I can do that myself (a superemely busy stretch of life makes this a non-option at the moment).
However, if there is someone out there who does such hanging/mounting work on a regular basis and is open to a relatively small jobs (e.g. about 1 – 2 days of “per hour” work via punch list), would be more than happy to connect.
Many thanks – MFB

Mobile Phone Reception in PS Brownstones
A constant/recurring undercurrent in cell phone discussions/complaints in Park Slope is the extremely poor reception people get within their own brownstone apartments.
I did a quick search to see if this item has been discussed before and came up short.
Thus, does anyone have any recommendations about which service providers fare better (or worse) in this area? My contract with T-Mobile has expired and I am seeking to switch b/c of the extremely poor connectivity within and near, my apartment.
Many thanks in advance. Cheers – MFB
