Patio Furniture?


Ikea says theirs won’t be in stock until April. Any recs on where to see some outdoor furniture on display? No plastic chairs from CVS. Want to see teak/teak immitation, metal, glass, etc. Tx.

Appraisal for FSBO?


Considering putting my place on the market, perhaps in the next few months to a year. Likely to get an inside buyer from the building. How can I get a good sense of how much my place is worth WITHOUT having brokers come in to appraise it? I don’t have any interest in dealing with brokers right now, but do need a sense of how much it’s worth before I can determine what we can afford to buy elsewhere (moving to different train line for commute to kid’s school.) PH 3 br duplex, deck, elevator, p/t dm, new baths, approx 1600sqft.

what to do with all this equity?


Bought back in ’99, probably have $500k in equity in a 3br duplex coop worth at least $700. Debating whether to sell and buy a modest house (have kid/s now) or sit tight. Not on the right subway line for kid’s school (F), but in great location otherwise. Seeing houses on F line within reach for first time… sell/buy, or sit tight?

Where to get bath lighting in stock immediately aside from bog box retailers?


Any nearby lighting or plumbing supply places with decent selection of merchandise in stock? Need brushed nickel fixtures this weekend, don’t want to wait for delivery.

bathroom gut reno – tiling behind cabinets?


Has anyone seen this as common practice? We are not tiling the entire wall, just up about 4.5 ft on walls outside of bath nook.
