Wither Rumba Air?

Last winter I had Fred from Rumba Air install split-system A/C throughout our brownstone. However now that summer is here the A/C isn’t working right.

I don’t want to point any fingers. I think Fred and his crew did a great job, but sometimes things just don’t work right the first time.

Anyway, I’m in a bit of a pickle. I have no way of getting in touch with Rumba Air. Both of the phone numbers I had are now disconnected and his e-mail is now bouncing.

Has anyone here heard from Fred recently?

Frameless glass shower enclosure

I recently got a quote for a frameless glass shower enclosure from Square Deal Glass. However I haven’t heard from them in a while – I was awaiting more info about their hardware styles. Anyway, I’m sick of getting our new tile floor wet and am thinking about finding a new shop to work with.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a company that can do this?

Tiler Recommendation?

We’ve just spent what feels like an awfully large amount on bathroom tiles for a medium sized bathroom and I want to find a tiler who can do the job right. The floor tiles are penny rounds, and we are doing 2×12′s on the walls.

While our general contractor can do tiling, he is concerned that with the amount we spent on tiles, he wants the job done right. He has asked me to find someone who only does tiles and does them well.

Recommendations?

Round tiles — too much grout?

We are deciding between putting round or hex tiles on our bathroom floor. I like the look of the round tiles, but am concerned about the grout to tile ratio of circular tiles compared to hex tiles. In particular, I am worried that with white, or even gray grout , stains will be more prominent and cleaning would be more difficult. Have others used round tiles for flooring? Do you regret it due to the cleaning hassle?

Thanks!

Ductless A/C installer recommendations

We are looking for a recommendation for a contractor to install some split system A/C units in our brownstone. We have a general contractor overseeing the rest of the work (bathrooms, etc.), but he can’t seem to track down a good A/C person who is available to begin immediately. Do any stoners have recommendations for us?

Thanks

Non-ugly ductless air conditioning units

Does anyone know of a non-ugly ductless air conditioning unit? I’m thinking about kitting out my brownstone before summer hits but the thought of cutting through molding to install a hideous-stuck-in-the-nineties-beige unit irks me to no end.

Oh, wise ones, share me some of that wisdom.
