Just wanted to alert Brownstoner readers that the Moore Street Retail Market in Williamsburg (whose pending closing was reported in Brownstoner in 2007)is open for business and on track to being the full service market it was meant to be. In late 2008, Brooklyn Economic Development Corporation, a Brooklyn nonprofit, signed a 5-year lease with NYC EDC to manage and run the market and we hope to begin to attract new vendors to fill the vacant spcaes by late spring — all the original vendors will remain.

Stop by the market, located at 110 Moore Street between Graham Ave and Humboldt Street, now open 7 days a week. We have a ways to go to make the market more attractive inside and out and to broaden the merchandise, but expect lots of positive changes over the next year.
