Buzzing Noise from Bathroom Ceiling
Hey guys, we just started hearing a loud buzzing noise coming from our bathroom ceiling. We have a few recessed lights and a ventilation fan, and we hear the buzz even after I cut the power from the circuit breaker. Any thoughts? I’m concerned about the safety aspect. Thanks!

Can’t Find a Wall Stud
Hey guys, I want to hang a flat screen TV but I’m having trouble locating the studs. It needs to hang on the inside of the street-side wall (front wall) between two windows about 4 feet apart. I’m using a Zircon i65 which is finding studs on other interior walls – is it possible there are no studs here? I got a bunch of seemingly false positives but nothing, well…solid. Short of cutting a slice out of my wall to find the studs, any thoughts? Mopar? Tinkers? Bueller??? Tks.

Kitchen Faucet For Sale

Hot Water Shutoff Repair
Hey guys,
Last night upon attempting a dishwasher install, we realized that neither my faucet shutoff valve and the main water shutoff valve in the basement and functioning. The dishwasher guy said it should be an easy repair for any plumber – what are the Brownstoner thoughts? Anything in particular I need to look out for? Both valves turn, but neither seem to fully shut the flow.
Also, any local plumber rec’s? Hoping to not get ripped off on this but do want it done right. Thanks!

Quartz Countertop Recommendations
Hi guys. I know it’s been covered in the past, but does anyone have any new / updated recommendations on quartz (Ceaserstone, Silestone, etc) supplier / installers? Also, any scoop on where to get the best deal on new appliances? Should we still with lowes or HD? Thanks!

Recommendation – KF Kitchen Cabinets
I wanted to put in a great word for Jason and his team at KF. As I posted a few weeks back, we needed a fully customized vanity because of odd sizing in our bathroom. We randomly found KF and stopped in on a whim. Jason’s crew came to out apt to measure it out, sloped walls and all, and built a perfectly-fit and built vanity for us in just a few weeks that was a much cheaper than what we were quoted by other guys (KF was slightly more expensive than a generic Home Depot piece of crap that wouldn’t have fit anyway). A great job by his team all around, including delivery and installation. I highly recommend them and will be using them for any future projects!

Shower Retiling
Hey guys and gals,
Does anyone have any experience with re-tiling a shower? I’m not talking about just re-grouting, but with actually taking down the tiles and sheetrock and replacing entirely. Costs, contractors, etc? Thanks!
