Forced air dust in Brownstone
Hi Folks,
We occupy the first 2 floors in a Brownstone that uses forced air. No problems with the heat…but the dust is unrelenting.
We can dust 4 days out of 5, and on he 5th day it looks like we’ve never dusted. Further we’re starting to suffer sinus congestion in the morning as well.
After asking around, apparently these old brownstones formerly used coal systems, and using convention duct suction/blower methods to clean helps but does not remove dirt from the walls of the ducts within the walls. Anyone out there know of a good solution for this?
Thanks
Electric Radiant Heat
Hi Folks,
I had a decent DIY’er help out putting in electric radiant heat in the bathroom via a 220V line. It works, but only half-way.
It takes a god awful long time to get up to the default comfort setting.
Once at the default comfort setting, the temperature heat the tiles fine. But that the problem–it takes too long.
Seems the the wire cables weren’t set and spaced properly. So now I’d like to do the job correctly with someone who has experience. The job involves taking up tile, laying in the radiant heat mesh, and putting tile back. If anyone has references with people who have experience with installing electric radiant heat, I’l appreciate it.

Hi Folks,
Seeking advice and recommendations on a samll to medium job. The project involves re-framing and extending an existing rear bathroom that includes a skylight for the purposes of better wall insulation and the addition of radiant heating. The project also calls for removing a tub and adding a shower space, and window. The project has already been approved by Landmarks and DOB. Looking for reliable and reasonable contractor with a good craftsmens eye. Looking to start project late September.
Thanks for any references.
