neighborhood advice needed

I’m moving in with the boyfriend, and together, we are moving to Brooklyn (25-35yrs old). We’re both used to spacious apartments for reasonable cost (I held the lease on my new construction 4br 2ba east village duplex, and he had a family deal), and both of us are used to having easy access to cheap restaurants, grocery stores.

We don’t want our commute to Union Square to be more than 30 minutes, and I hope to have a nice kitchen and access to local restaurants. Walkable neighborhood is key.

Do you have suggestions for neighborhoods given these requirements? (Williamsburg on the L line? NW Park Slope?). Budget is $1500- $1900 and we’re looking for >750sq ft.

I’ve been nerding it up on craigslist, but other search suggestions are much appreciated.
