Wood vs. Laminate Flooring?
We need to redo the floor for a v. large bedroom in our brownstone duplex which will be a rental for at least a few years, maybe permanently. Huge price difference between pergo and wood flooring, not sure it’s worth it to do the wood for a rental — what think? Do renters hate wood laminate, too? How much would it hurt if we decide to sell?

Wood Flooring
We need to redo the wood floor of a very large bedroom in our 1867 brick townhouse — the parlor in the next room has lovely old dark wood parquet but can’t replicate — need something reasonably priced. Any suggestions?

wondering what price all the gurus out there would give, sight unseen: large (4,000+ sf) fed style brick townhouse, north slope, double duplex w lg owner’s duplex/garden and upper deck, great detail but bathrooms and some floors need reno. 1.7?

double parlors
am wondering how many people actually have double parlors or parlors on separate floor from kitchen/dr…do you use the living room? Have seen a few houses like this…seems odd to me.

who pays for fence?
What’s the law regarding shared fences on either side of a brownstone’s garden? Are we responsible for only one side, or should both sides be shared with the neighbors?
