Comps/Appraisal for Refinancing


I’d like to refi my house but want to check out comps to see if any of the recent contracts have translated into sales that will affect my appraisal. does anyone know a cheap way to look at comps – i don’t really want to pay $50 for property shark!

filter change on boiler?


my thermostat is flashing that I need to change the filter and my heat doesn’t seem to be working – does anyone know how to do with this? can I clear the filter ? and where is it and how???? have small children – need heat!

House Painter Rec


Hi – i just wanted to recommend Gordon Voisey – I found him on brownstoner and he just painted my unbelievably shabby parlor floor that hadn’t been painted in probably 30 years – with dissgusting textured wall panels, lots of molding, pocket doors, peeling paint, cracked plaster, a ceiling that was practically falling down, etc. He repaired and skim coated and painted in four days at an unbelievably cheap price. How Much to Refinance?


I am refinancing a mortgage with the same lender (chase) without taking out cash except closing costs – do I have to pay mortgage tax on the whole mortgage or just closing costs?
