“Empire Today” flooring company?


Has anyone used this company? I’ve seen their commercials on TV.
I need a new subfloor and probably ceramic tiling or hardwood floor for a kitchen (approx 150 sq ft i believe).

If anyone has any other recommended flooring companies please do share.

Beam Repair Anyone?


Hello everyone,

I have a beam in the basement that has a bit of termite damage and the kitchen floor right above it sinks in a little bit. Anyone else have this problem and can recommend a licensed contractor? Rough price estimate?
I’ve tried calling a few places but they told me the job seems too small for them (must be nice turning down business these days :) )

Can Landmarks Do This?


I just received a violation notice stating that I do not have the correct brownstone door on my home. My issue is that I haven’t changed the door since I purchased the home! I called the Landmarks Dept. to tell them that this is the condition that I purchased the home but she said they normally don’t care about that! Has anyone been through this and are they really going to make me purchase a $10K door because of what a prior owner may have done? Seems like an abuse of control to me.
