Permit regulations / scaffolding
We live in a four-unit coop that’s in the middle of having the facade re-done–right now it’s ready to have the topcoat applied. Because of the new city regulations on scaffolding more than 40 feet tall, our contractor wants to charge us an extra $5,000 to cover permits and scaffolding construction, which he says he now has to subcontract. Of course, scaffolding was included in the original price. Does anyone have experience with this?
