Vaulted Ceiling
I’m renovating a 10×10 bathroom on the top floor of an old Victorian. Can a vaulted ceiling be added or do you need all those beams that go along the ceiling and ‘pinch’ the roof? Would extra thick beams on the sides be sufficient?
Has anyone seen this or skylights in an old vic? How does it look?

Victorian Cooling
I have an old Victorian with room air conditioners. Is an attic fan and/or whole house fan a good idea? Why would you get both (with the whole has fan venting to the attic) rather then have the whole house fan vent directly to the outside?

Should Brass Risers be Replaced?
In renovating 4 bathrooms in a 1910 house, should the original brass risers be replaced?
Three bathrooms are in a stack on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor. The 4th bath is on the second floor above the kitchen.
All plumbing in the bathroom would be replaced. From the basement, the risers look fine.
Should they be replaced? Any estimates of cost? Can it be done later?

Splitting Double Lot
My house in Midwood is on a double lot. The lot is 100×100 when the rest of the block is 50×50.
Can I build a second house or sell the lot?

PPS Over Priced?
If you do a search for properties under 2M in PPS, the top two that come up look nice but have been on the market 99 and 168 days. One even shows a price increase. What do you think these will go for?

Why are house prices lower near the park by the parade grounds then in Ditmas by Cortelyou?
