Damage to roof


I have a friend who’s roof was damaged due to a neighbor installing a direct t.v. dish on her roof with out her permission. They drilled several holes threw her roof, which has lead to leaking in her bedroom. I think she needs to sue the neighbors and Direct TV, for failing to get authorization from property owner. What do you guys think?

House is too hot.


Hello all, Maybe someone can give some advice. I recently brought a digital programable thermostat (honeywell). It has varying temparture settings rangeing from 62-72f. However, the temparture always reads much warmer about 80f. I can’t take it. Im opeaning windows, and I’m afraid of what my bill is going to look like. I am a new lanlord and have haven’t gotten a bill yet for heating as yet. P.S. There were two wires coming out the wall when I installed it (blue/green) I even tried switching them around, still the same outcome. I contacted a heating contractor who said I probably mixed the wires up some way.

Should I let them use my electricity?


The people who bought the vacant house next door to me want to began work on the house. Their problem is they dont have electricity in the house yet. A woman came over this evening and asked they could use the outlet in my front yard. On and off for the next couple of weekends. They would be willing to give me $50 toward by bill. Is this a risky thing to do? What do you guys think?

Tenant has a washing machine.


I just found out that my tenant who just moved in July has a washing machine in her apartment. I don’t think I specified no washing machines on her lease. What should I do. I did not say anything to her and her lease there is 10mths left on her lease.

Smoke alarm


Help! How do you get an hard wired smoke & CO alarm to stop chirping. I replaced the back up battery, reset it, and soon as I get off the ladder-the damn thing starts chirping again. I was able to stop one from doing this, the 2nd unsucessful. Should I buy a new alarm all together, or do I need an electrician?
