I made a health complaint… can i get thrown out now?

Basically, I rented an apartment in a condo building a couple months ago. the building was constructed in 91 and only ever had a temporary certificate of occupancy, which was pointed out to me before i signed the lease. so the problem is that the carpeting in the hallway of the building is disgusting. it has mold and stains all over it and the odor is UNBEARABLE. some days it smells like bad meat, other days it smells like urine. we had to have an exterminator come and he said the carpet is basically rotting and its contributing greatly to the bug problem. our landlord has been very helpful, she got the condo board to clean the carpet (which did absolutley nothing) and now the exterminater comes once a month to spray the hallway but i dont think the condo board is very helpful since there has been no move to replace the carpeting. so after 3 months of this i got fed up and placed a complaint with the board of health about the air quality. they still need to decide whether or not the complaint is even worth looking into, but now im afraid that i’ve shot my self in the foot. if they do move forward with the claim and investigate will they evict the tenants in the building because it’s missing the CO? What are our rights, if any? Should I be worried?
