Need 4 Feet for clawfoot tub
Our clawfoot tub just tipped over yesterday because 1 foot is a different size than the other 3. We need to either replace the 1 foot or buy 4 new feet. Anyone know where to find feet for a clawfoot tub ? Thanks
Renter Not Granting Access to Cellar for Meter Readings. Options ?
I am the owner of a two unit building/row house. I live in the upstairs duplex and the tenant lives downstairs. We do not have access to the cellar due to the configuration of the rental….We have received notices from the gas company, as the electronic meter reading does not seem to be working. Our tenant has not allowed access/is not home – and not has provided permission for us to grant access (previous tenants did when needed with advance notice and this was never a problem). Note this is the first time we have requested access ever of this tenant and it is proving to be a problem. In addition we are doing renovations soon that will require cutting of the gas line for an hour or so (it is in everyone’s interest !) which will also require access to the cellar. What recourse is available to us ? We have already tried phone calls and emails and do not get a response. Note we have been on good terms, but granting access seems to be an issue. Thanks !
Transfer taxes for refi – must taxes be paid again
Does one usually have to pay the transfer taxes/charges on state and local fees on mortgages and home sales again with the same lender during a refi ? What if you have a different lender ?
Thank you !

Finishing Cellar – is DoB Approval Needed ?
We bought our house with a semi finished cellar, w. cement floor, v. dry. It came with washer-dryer and utility sink but otherwise was used mostly for storage. As the space is v. nice, with original stone exposed along the wall, we plan to turn it into a recreation room for our own use (no new plumbing). This entails removing current ceiling, putting in new ceiling and walls, new lighting and new stairs. Through the hatch we will have fresh air by installing a skylight which opens (eventually once the budget allows). We are even contemplating one that will open all of the way for egress (though the space is not for sleeping) . Question is, is DoB approval needed for this ? To me this is cosmetic…..
Operable Skylight Products and Install Recommendations
We would like to install an operable skylight over the hatch of the basement which we are planning to finish during the next few weeks. Does anyone have recommendations on products to use (ideally local) and who could install ? Thank you !
Ventilation for Finished Cellar for Owner Use ?
Just wondering what we could use for ventilation as no air seems to circulate in the cellar. Its a great space and we plan to create a rec. room, but not sure what we should do to make it more comfortable year round. We don’t have a lot of funds…Would a Mr Slim do it ? (or not)…Any other ideas ?

Recs for Finishing Basement ?
We are interested in creating a rec room in our basement for our own use, which would entail putting up walls, a new set of stairs from ground floor to basement, heating (radiator ideal) , we already have electrical in the ceiling and finished cement floors (dry). We need to seal and waterproof the chute (which is now a simple trap door. We need new lights in the ceiling (simple spots) and new ceiling . Anyone have recommendations of who could do it and not be insanely expensive ? Thanks
