after reno need to rent industrial air cleaning/ air washer


hi,
wrapping up my reno on an apt, we have a little one and i would like to rent an industrial air washer,
its something someone told me moves hundreds of cubic feet of air per hour,

no luck yet finding a rental or any information really

Floor refinishing recommendations


hi, i need my wood floor refinished and stained,
so far we have had a few companies come by and give us quotes.
whats most interesting is what some point out and what others completely ignore or don’t see.

the quotes we have gotten have been from 1500.00 to 5k- which is beyond me why there is such a margin. the one thing i have realized through my reno is that the higher price doesnot mean better quality/service/skill etc.

can anyone recommend some honest craftsmen that take pride in their work?

i got a quote for 1200.00 from an electrician today for adding a light switch and overhead light outlet to a plaster ceiling and also adding another electrical socket to a plaster wall, the price does not include replastering

is this a “high” price or common?
just trying to gauge these things which i have no idea what they cost

wall plastering dilemna~ need a “how-to” contractor quotes are crazy high


hi
trying to smooth the plaster walls in my pre-war apt.
i’m getting quotes of 10k-30k to smooth and finish the walls alone , the interior apt size is less than 1k feet. the walls are not bad, some small hairline cracks, just overall not smooth.

i need help trying to do this myself.

1 contractor said he starts first with primer, then plasters and smooth the plaster then primes again.

another told me he doesn’t use joint compound but plaster mix and lime.

so my question is, whats the best course of action for me to do it myself?
use joint compound and primer or trying to find the powder plaster mix?

any help is welcome

is a 3rd coat typically much better than 2x?
