Fireplace Facade


Hello – We have a wood burning fireplace that is probably 20 years old – works alright but facade with damper is damaged. Is it possible to just change the face plate/damper and surround ? Appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

Restaining Kitchen Cabinets


Looking for wood staining experts in brooklyn. Maple kitchen cabinets were stained 5 years ago and look terrible (staining did not take to the wood) and need to be redone. Would like some/any suggestions.

Maintenance Costs – Coop


Hello – Am looking at making an offer for a coop. CCs are relatively high – $2500 area of which 50% are real estate taxes. Building is old with only 4 apartments and am concerned that longer term CCs maybe much higher. Any rule of thumb to estimate longer term costs – assuming that reserve fund is small and building is in ok shape but not great (1900 build). Thanks

Renovation Estimate


Hi – Would like some thoughts on how to estimate renovation costs. Would like to make an offer on an old coop apartment that needs updating – 3 bathrooms, kitchen, put in central Air, new wiring and new closets/storage space.
