Bathroom caulking and more
I’d appreciate any recommendations…I’m looking for a nice person who won’t charge a fortune to replace the caulking around the tub and toilet, fixing a patch of the bathroom wall affected by water, and fixing some cracks in the walls. Would just love to find someone decent and reasonable as we’re easy to work with and will gladly pay a fair price for the work. Thanks all!
J-51 Tax Abatement
Our small co-op applied a few years back but got held up by violations. We have fixed all the violations within the past year but our application expired and needs to be refiled. Can anyone help with recommendations of a company or law firm that we can hire to file our application and see the process through for us? Also, has anyone had experience in this area to know how much it should cost (again, all violations are resolved and verified with HPD)?
Help? We’re cold
Our brownstone had an addition put on many years back on 3 floors. Each of us in the bldg find our room in the addition to be nearly impossible to keep warm once it gets below 40 degrees. We all have one radiator and one space heater. I’ve caulked our windows. We’d love to treat the outside of the bldg and to newly insulate our inside walls but that is out of the budget. Does anyone have any other good advice to help us warm up our rooms? Has anyone had any success with a certain product for insulating the windows? It is worth spending my weekend with plastic bags, tape and hairdryers? Any advice is much appreciated.
ISO: Carpentar/Electrician/Locksmith
Our nearly hundred year old brownstone (co-op’d apartments) has a
very old, wide double front door whose lock keeps malfunctioning and
it’s connected to an intercom system that allows us to buzz folks in but not talk to them to verify who they are. We would like to
replace the doors and frame at a cost that will fit our co-op’s
budget. Can anyone recommend a carpentar or someone who might be
able to replace the doors and frame? Also, we need someone to
replace the lock on the door but also be able to hook it up to the
intercom so we can buzz folks in. Ideally this person will also be
able to fix or replace the intercom so that we can talk to those
ringing our doorbells. If anyone has any leads to folks I can talk
to, please reply. Much appreciated.
