NO HEAT IN MY OFFICE


Are the laws the same regarding heat in commercial rental spaces as they are in residential spaces? Basically I have been informed by my office landlord that there will be no heat or hot water this winter, and he gave me a space heater and said “just leave it on all the time” which i am obviously not going to do, i’m not looking to start a fire!

I have stopped paying rent (is that legal???) and plan on making a complaint with 311….do I have any other options other than to wait or move?

ISO Maintenance Men


I live in a 12 unit condo building in fort greene and we need to find a replacement for our maintenance men. we are looking for someone who can sweep and mop the hallways once a week (4 floor walkup) and deal with the trash/recycling. Ideally this person/people could also help coordinate small repairs- intercom system, light painting of the hallways/exterior doors, that sort of thing.

If anyone has someone to recommend it would be much appreciated.

it is basically a kit you assemble and it just rests on the roof. is it still necessary to file for a permit?
