Can you offer to buy a piece of neighboring house’s yard?

I’m looking at a property with a very short lot. The lot behind it is very long. Is it possible to offer to buy, say, a 10-15 ft long chunk of the other lot, if the owner were so inclined to sell? Or is the owner not legally allowed to sell me a sliver of his lot? Thanks!

Did 82 Pierrepont ever sell?

The Herman Behr Mansion at 82 Pierrepont went up for sale in August-September (for $12 million, I think). It seems like it was on the market for only a month or two before the listing was removed. Anyone know if it actually sold and to whom? I can’t find any current information on it.

Inspection for Co-ops & Condos?

Do buyers usually get an inspection when purchasing a co-op or a condo? Or are inspections mainly restricted to houses?

20 Grand Avenue?

Anyone know what the latest deal is with 20 Grand Avenue? Is it a commercial condo yet or what? Still shady? I noticed someone had posted about 231 Norman Avenue, and thought I’d ask about 20 Grand. Thanks.

The last brownstoner link is:

Condo Unit Square Footage as listed on Property Shark

I know Property Shark doesn’t always get townhouse square footage correct (garden levels not always counted, etc.), but how accurate are they with measurements for condo/co-op units? Where do they get the info from? Can you trust their sq. footage?

SROs and Original Details

What is the general consensus on potential for remaining details when it comes to a brownstone that was a former SRO (until recently)? Can you still find enough original woodwork, doors, mantels, moldings, etc.? Or does it all tend to be gone? Thanks.
