DOB launched a new citywide program called “get it done together” to faciliate faster approvals. Offhand looks like the answer for an application where there is some pondering going on wheteher to file a CCD/ZRD-1 or not and also for minor jobs where there is adelay in getting general appointments and you get ot faster that way.

Musical chairs at DOB on April 15. Fatma Amer, First deputy commissioner is retiring with the vacated coveted spot being given to current Brooklyn Borough Commissioner Thomas Fariello. Brooklyn Deputy John Galagher to get the no. 1 spot on Brooklyn and Frank Marchiano, SEP chief in Queens to get the no. 2 spot in Brooklyn!!

Energy code reports are being mandated effective feb. 7 2011 on a new TR8 form with revised additional documentation coming up simultaneously at the NYC DOB!!

New fees coming up by DOB. Effective Sepetember 20 every application that has concrete invovled that requires TR-2 and TR-3 will have a new minimum additional 390.00 permit fee.

New forms apparently coming up at DOB on the 7th for energy compliance and associated controlled inspections.

DOB Brooklyn has now a new guy sitting at the plan examiners area. New plan examiner in training ?

Effetive immediately in Brooklyn, Homeowners can now see the project advocate only for letter pf no objection denials. For all other issues, homeowners will have to utilize Homeowner’s Night which is every Tuesday 4:00 to 5:30 PM

Plan examiner lisa Amoia came back this week after a stint of a few months at DOB headquarters zoning task force which brings back to Brooklyn another plan examiner for bigger jobs. Hopefully backlog will be less now for new building filings and majorrenovations
