Shipping Antique Chairs from LA to NYC
I have some antique chairs in Los Angeles that I need moved out to NYC. Can anyone recommend a company that can handle the packing and shipping of these chairs for us? I’d hire a moving van, but there are just 3 chairs. Plus, since they are antiques I’d rather have them moved/shipped by someone who can get them across country in the same condition they’re in currently.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Need Diagostician/Plumber
We’ve had an intermittent leak in our bathroom ceiling for months. We’ve had numerous plumbers come in to check things out (run water in all neighbor and upstairs apartments, flush all toilets, dribble water on grouted areas in the upstairs unit, etc.). So far no one has been able to pinpoint the source of the leak. We need this dealt with once and for all. If you know of a plumber that’s willing to take the time to diagnose and fix our issue, please let us know. What I don’t need is another person coming in and charging me to say he can’t say for sure where it’s coming from–I’ve had enough of those.
Window AC – less than 18” wide
I have a narrow window (18 inches wide) and need a window air conditioner will fit. Can anyone recommend a narrow AC unit that will fit?
Baseboards
There’s a gap between our baseboards and floorboards. What type of caulk shall I use to fix this?
Clean bamboo flooring
We have new bamboo floors. I dry mop with the Swiffer weekly. Any suggestions on deeper cleaning methods (i.e., water, vinegar, etc.)?
Ceiling fan/light – pls. help!
We have a ceiling fan/light in our place that was professionally installed. We’ve recently started having a problem with the light function. Namely, the light seems to go on and off or dim (although there is no dimmer) independently of the controls. In fact it appears to be controlled, at least in part, either by our Blackberries (i.e., upon receipt of new mail), or mysteriously by the television remote control. Particularly annoying is the fact that once the Blackberry has caused the light to dim, there is no way we can get it to un-dim. Has anyone ever had an issue like this? Or does anyone have any suggestions about how to fix this?
