Best way to sell appliances, etc.

Where do folks recommend listing these used appliances and lights to sell? Here, craigslist, ??

So far we’ve got a dishwasher (GE Monogram that our oddly shaped dishes don’t fit in) and several light fixtures, some newish, some possibly very old (fitting for old brownstones).

Rec’s for snow removal

Hey folks,

Some neighbors and I are looking for someone who can shovel our walks if it snows and we can’t. Some neighbors might be happy to pay the person to shovel every time it snows.

We’re in brownstones in Park Slope near Dizzy’s on 9th St (for a vague location). Anybody have someone who does this for you or your building? I’d love a recommendation from someone who uses the person they are recommending.

Maybe you’re in a multi-unit building and have someone who does this kind of stuff and could send them my way.

Thanks for any help.

Front Lights and Landmarks

We’ve just moved into a landmarked Park Slope brownstone. Our stretch of the street is very poorly lit. We have a gas light in the front garden, but obviously that produces very little light and I’m concerned about safety.

Neighbors about 4-5 houses down on either end have nice front lights (hanging in front of the front door at the top of the stoop). I’d like to add one asap. If I go ahead and have my electrician and handman do this without going through the lengthy permit process, what are the possible repercussions?

I’m leaning towards just going ahead and doing it with a light the same or very similar to those neighbors have (most have the same type and I think it looks really nice and suited to the buildings) but I’d love to hear your opinions on this.
