Open house TV: SevenBerry vs Oro

Today WNBC-TV Channel 4 is repeating the episode of “Open House NYC” that features 7 Berry and the Oro. For those not familiar with the program this show, sponsored by developer K. Hovnanian and Buick, features (expensive) real estate around the city.
In this episode the house hunter is taken to both places by her agent giving us a chance to see the inside of both of these condos you might not see unless you had about 800,000 to spend. At first she liked the Oro better than the Developers Group condo but ultimately her Manhattanite snobbery took over and she rejected both. I was struck by how crappy the D group’s condo was for that price range. (check out that view!)

The episode airs again at 12:30pm today but if you miss it you can follow this link to view it. http://link.brightcove.com/services/link/bcpid285076654/bclid291684297/bctid1328193884

New Traffic light on Liningston

DOT finally put a traffic light at the intersection of Livingston Street and Gallatin Place. This will allow a safer crossing for people of the Brooklyn Tabernacle and
New York City Transit who share offices in the old Workmen’s Compensation building and the refurbished 177 Livingston. The poles were put up this weekend and the light was fully working Tuesday. They may have to tweak the timing and add a crosswalk but in the end it will be a safer crossing than the nearby corner of Smith where there are vans, buses and a lot of turning traffic.
