Hello.
I would like to know if anyone has had experience with insuring their Brownstone.
I have a 3 family and I will be renting all floors this July. Since I will no longer technicaly live in the house, it now becomes a commercial property. I have insured it with Allstate since 2001 but now I will have to change it from owner occupied to full rental.
1. Does anyone know if their is a specific insurance for our type of house ( Brownstone or Row House )? 2. Do Brownstone’s fall under ” a special” category?
3. Because of their Brick & Brownstone constructions and are historic, do insurance companys raise premiums?
I need to find a new insurance company by June 1st. Thank you very much.
