Living/Green Wall


Thinking about creating a outdoor living wall against a concrete wall that separates my property and the condo next door. Has anybody done this or can recommend a contractor who does this kind of work? Thanks!

Washing Machine for 2nd floor


I have a laundry room on the second floor of my brownstone. The washing machine jumps and vibrates so badly that it finally has died. Does anybody have a good suggestion for a new model to buy? Looking for a top loader if possible but open to anything that will work well on a upper floor. Thanks!

Dog Urinating on Front Gate


People are constantly letting there dogs relief themselves on my iron gates that surround the front of my property and its driving me crazy. Aren’t you supposed to curb your dog? Does anybody else have this problem? Am I being overly sensitive? Anything I can do to stop it?

Bamboo Privacy


There has been a lot of posts asking about planting bamboo. I am well aware of how invasive it is and the options to contain it. What I want to know is if anyone has actually done it and if they had any pointers for someone who is a newbie at this. My house is next to a huge new condo and I would like some additional privacy. And advice greatly appreciated.

Refinancing & DOB Sign-off

Brownstone Ethernet Network


I went through a gut reno a few years back and had the electrician install CAT5E instead of standard phone wire. I am now looking to get in finalized by adding the proper ethernet jacks (he just put in RJ-45 connectors) and connecting all the wires. My original electrician gave me a quote of $1,400 which sounds kind of high to me. Anybody else have this done? Does this sound reasonable? Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

How many gallon Water Heater do I need?


I’ll try to make this short. They put a 12-story building up right next to me. Since my chimney no longer vents as well because of the building, they are proposing to install a 30 Gal direct vent gas water heater. I live in a 2 family brownstone. Bottom floor is occupied by 1 person. Top 2 floors occupied by my 4 person family. Total 3 1/2 baths. Is 30 gallon enough? Master Plumber your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Plumber with Tankless Water Heater experience


Can anybody recommend a plumber that has experience installing Tankless water heaters? I have a Bosch installed and the water temperature is constantly fluctuating when we take a shower. Is this just the way these things are? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
