What Kind of Grass in Backyard?
What kind of grass should I plant in my backyard? Someone told me about some kind of honeycomb thingy to put down before I plant the seeds. Anyone know anything about such a thing?
Removing Concrete Backyard
I’m going to hire someone to demolish and remove my concrete backyard. Do I need to leave a certain amount around the foundation? Of course this complicates it as they will have to use a concrete saw. There is one drain, should I try to keep it? Or will I no longer need it?
Follow up to sewage smell
We think we may have figured out the sewage smell in basement, but I am a little confused. When we open up the floor there are several pipes: one is a large vent line which goes outside, two sewer lines going into ground both have threaded caps, and what is confusing is there is a large pipe that appears to be connected to the drain hole just outside the basement. Within that drain pipe there is a flap that I think goes to the main sewer, is this some kind of rainwater overflow flap made to open if our drain gets too much water so that some can go directly to the city line? I think this is where the smell may be coming in. We are going to try to replace the 5 inch bolted cap that covers the top of the drain line to see if that helps, but it seems difficult to get a good seal as it is not threaded. Any ideas?
Sewage smell that comes and goes
A few months ago we had a sewage smell in one of our basement rooms. Never could resolve it, but it eventually went away. Now it is back and we don’t know where it is coming from. We have checked the seals in the pipes under the floor and they seem ok. The smell is only in the basement room at the front of the house. Just don’t understand where it is coming from. Who should I call to investigate?
Making a Musty Basement Liveable
Unfortunately half our living space in our home is really a basement with stone walls. We have taken out most of the drywall (in order to get to termite damage) and are wondering what is the best way to coat the stone walls in order to make a livable space while also allowing the stone to breathe. I was thinking of “rendering” with a lime/sand mix. Not even quite sure what it all means.

What to plant in 3 x 5 area in front of house
I just removed a 3 x 5 size piece of concrete in order to plant a shrub or two and other easy care plants in front of my house. Clueless what to plant. The plants will get morning sun and be partly shaded from sidewalk tree during day. I like tall grasses and low ground cover. Thanks for advice.

Small Stoop Repair
I just need one step repaired on my brownstone stoop, is it possible to do it myself? If not, would anyone (someone who knows what they are doing) be interested in such a small job?
Plaster/Stucco/Stone
Does anyone know how to get the plaster/stucco/stone look featured in the picture? Not quite sure the material they used.
Thanks
