Best time to find a rental?
Here’s another silly question from the folks moving from Denver. What part of the month is the best time to find an apartment, considering quantity available, negotiating leverage, and availability of owners/brokers? We are fying in for a week of looking, and will be doing so about a month and a half before we need to move. Also, is coming the week before or the week after July 4 a bad idea? Does everyone clear out for the holidays?
Club / Gym in BH or PS
Any recommendations on a nice, clean, friendly gym/club in Brooklyn Heights or Park Slope with ‘all the bells and whistles’?
Safe Neighborhoods?
I would appreciate recommendations on what neighborhoods other than Brooklyn Heights might be clean, safe, handy, neighborly, and convenient to Manhattan. We’re moving to NYC from Colorado this summer, and we love Brooklyn Heights, but based on research, we’re concerned that we may not find what we want in BH very soon. Any other suggestions? (Son will be in school in Midtown so near to Manhattan is best and I need subway within two blocks of home.) Thanks, Everyone!
BH Parking/Garage question
OK. This may be the dumbest question ever posted here, but we’re the Coloradoans who are moving to BH this summer, and have a lot to learn. Here’s the question: What does one do there for parking? Stretside? Garages? How much does long-term parking cost? Is it safe to park outside? Do most people sell their cars when they move to NYC? I can’t find any info, and parking isn’t even shown as a ‘topic’ here. Any help will be appreciated, please. Thanks much!
Impressed with Brownstoner!
I am moving from Denver, CO to Brooklyn Heights soon, accompanying my son who will be attending acting school in Manhattan. We’ve fallen in love with BH on recent trips and plan to nest in there for a while. We enjoy the community feel of Brownstoner and are benefiting from the information. If anyone has a favorite realtor or knows of a neat rental bldg near Eastern Athletic Club/Gym, we’d appreciate the info. 2-3 BR and 1-2 BA will work. Also, we will need someone to help move us in when we arrive, in case anyone knows someone. If these requests are out of line for this site, just delete this please. (Anyone need anything from Colorado when we come?)
