moving radiator connection/recessed panel
Hi I am in the middle of gutting my bathroom (or rather my contractor is) in a prewar co-op. The wall mounted radiator had been removed long ago by a previous owner, and now I want to replace it with a small (partially) recessed radiator near the floor, with one of those metal cover plates.
I have two issues to ask about:
The building manager says doing it now while the heat is on is impossible because relocating the valve from about 6 ft off the floor to down near the floor will involve cutting the pipe, rethreading, etc. and they can’t shut the heat off for this to be done.
Any thoughts? Obviously I’d prefer not to rip my new bathroom up again in the summer just to do this.
Also, assuming this can be done, I wouldlike to put one of those slightly convex metal covers over the radiator, which I have seen all over the place but can’t seem to find a supplier for. Any ideas?
Other people in the co-op have done this, but long ago and no longer have any references.
Thanks
experience installing W/D/ combo?
Hi I just bought one of these ventless w/d combos to install on the 2nd floor of a prewar coop with hardwood floors. I have read a few horror stories online about leaking, vibrating (they spin at 1400rpms), so I would like to get an experienced installer to do it right the first time. Any references/suggestions are appreciated.
