Shower Stall Liners


Has anyone used one of those acrylic (or other material) shower stall liners when a shower stall needs updating? I’m considering it for a rental apartment and am looking for company recommendations as well as pricing info, if you have any…..thanks.

D*MN Brooklyn Squirrels


I shooed a nasty, big squirrel out of our apple tree hoping that a single apple makes it to maturity instead of every single one ending up as snack food for rodents, and now for the second time a squirrel (I am not naming names, but I’m pretty sure it’s payback) has chewed through a string of globe lights that we have up along a chain-link fence. D*amn squirrels. Any suggestions for how I can prevent this from happening yet again, as in something I could hang near the lights that would keep them away? We’ve thought about getting a BB gun and serving squirrel stew at our next potluck, but I’d be too tempted to use it on loud drunk people rolling down my street at 1AM who think it’s cool to yell and disturb our sleep. Or I may just leave the lights plugged in all day so the next time the varmint tries it he gets fried. But I’m open to more humane suggestions. Thanks.

Looking for a Fence Specialist


I’m looking for someone who really knows what they’re doing in terms of erecting/installing fencing, for our backyard. Not easy enough for us to do on our own because we need it installed over a large bluestone patio, and with a gate put in. Would love any recommendations you have. Thanks.

How to Clean Bluestone Patio?


We have a nice bluestone patio in the back yard. It gets dirty, from leaves which fall from nearby trees and then don’t get immediately swept up, from general wear, from NY dirty rain etc….

How can I clean it? I tried a stone cleaner (three bottles of it, actually, though it’s a large patio), which I used less dilute than recommended, mixed with warm water, left to sit on the patio for 20-30 minutes then scrubbed hard with a brush and rinsed off with the hose, but it didn’t help all that much.

Does anyone have any cleaning substances or techniques to recommend, or a company which would do it for me?

Looking for a Tub Reglazer


hi — I have two claw-foot tubs and a sink original to my 1910 house that need re-finishing/reglazing. Am looking for recommendations from fellow B’stoners. If you can tell me what type of finish was used and how it has held up, all the better. Thanks so much.
