Pantry Doors
We had a pantry (really, a large reach-in shelving unit) built out of a small alcove area in our apartment. The problem we’re having now is getting bi-fold doors for them. The space is 92″ high and 72″ wide. Our contractor tried to install plywood bi-fold doors, but they were bowed and didn’t close properly. We’re looking for 4 18″ panels that are 1 3/8″ thick, either solid or hollow core, most likely in birch. Dykes Lumber quoted us approximately $910 for the 4 panels. Midwood Doors & Millwork quoted us $550, but it took them 2 weeks (and several phone calls from my husband) to give us a quote. We’re reluctant to order from them because they were difficult to get a hold of in the first place. Anyone have any recommendations as to where else we can get these doors or other alternatives for the doors? Thank you.
Frameless Shower Glass doors
Our bathroom reno is complete and all that’s left is to have frameless shower glass doors installed. I’ve gotten a quote from ABC which I thought was a little high for a 46×82 opening (24″ door with 22″ panel), 3/8″ tempered glass with chrome fixtures.
Someone on the Forum recommended Paradise Glass, who I called and scheduled an appointment to take measurements on Saturday morning. I was told they would call me either Friday night or Saturday morning to confirm a time. Not only did they not call, they didn’t show up. When I called this morning to inquire if we could re-schedule, they had no record of our conversation. I asked if someone would be available to come early in the morning one day this week or on Saturday since my husband and I work full-time jobs. “Not possible,” was the response I got. Apparently, they’re not interested in getting our business.
Does anyone have any other recommendations?
Thank you.
