Bad Contractor


For your sanity, do not use Vinny Mora. He has done a horrible job, plus shared personal financial details about his other clients with us. Not asked for detail re: people we know. The whole process has been to horrible to describe here. And all the people who recommended him cannot bear to hear his name.

When do you dump your contractor?


Our contractor has taken over 5 months to renovate our 800 q. ft apartment. He said it would be 2 months. This might not seem like much but we are now living in the basement apartment with a premature infant, after a total of 9 weeks were spent in hospital. Every week he does one more thing after we call and threaten him. Every week he lies about when he will be here again. Every week he says he will finish. It would just be a few more days of work to complete. At the moment we owe him a little less than it would take to have someone else finish the job. Any suggestions? Should we just get someone to complete the necessary projects for move in?

Cablevisions


Cablevision just nailed cables and boxes into 4 buildings on our street, without the property owners permission. All are owner occupied small apartment buildings and have been repointed in the last 2 years Has anyone had experience with this? Or know where we can find out our rights and their responsibilities?

Converting a 6 unit to 5


We are trying to convert 2 units into one on the top floor of a 3 story, 6 apartment building. Does anyone have advice or recommendations? We are on a tight budget and timeline. Thanks
