Satellites and Roof Damage

I’m about to close on a coop that asked me not to install a satellite on the roof for fear of damage with drilling and all. This is totally reasonable as it is a small coop and the roof was recently been replaced at great cost and I would not want there to be any damage as well. My question is what solutions have others found that is non invasive to the roof or building. Cement bucket? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

Roof Deck Construction

Hello,

I’m wondering if anyone has any advice on the costs and permits associated with building a modest roof deck, something with basically a wood base and maybe additional railings. I would estimate the sq footage to be around 500-600 and the height of the building is a 4 floor walkup (row house in williamsburg- NOT landmarked). I’m also wondering what kinds of permits, if any, need to be acquired. Thanks for any replies in advance.

Iron Gates and A/C again

Hello,

I’ve looked up all the previous posts on this and I wonder if I could get a fresh perspective on this. Possibly renting an apartment with security bars that don’t allow for A/Cs. I am wondering if it would be cheaper to get 2 windows redone with the bow in the iron to accommodate this or to purchase those portable A/C units that sit in the apartment. So I guess I’m wondering if anyone has had 2 window’s bars replaced and what the cost was, ballpark. Ground floor, standard sized windows. No real curve balls. I appreciate any thoughts. Thanks!
